When Dad's Pies opened back in 1981, Eddie and his wife, Erika, use to hand make all of their pies and sell them to hungry beachgoers, back when there were shops on the beachfront of Red Beach. Eddie & Erika noticed a gap in the market for quality wholesome pies and knew that the only way to get a delicious pie and fill it to the brim, is to be generous and use real ingredients. Over the years, as Dad's Pies evolved and business was getting bigger, the roots of the pie never changed, no matter what financial crises the country was in. The company went through some very tough times, and even though there were supplier increases and economy scares, the pure quality and generosity of the ingredients never changed. The only change Eddie was focused on was making it better, therefore, as the company expanded, so did the staff capacity, and we brought on a full-time Chef and Butcher to make sure every aspect of the pie, the recipe, presentation and the flavour creates a perfect kiwi pie.
